Equipment placement

A condenser, air handler, or other unit needs a clear relationship to the building. A proposed layout can help crews and customers discuss the intended location.

Air devices and controls

Registers, returns, and thermostats belong in the context of the rooms they serve. Labels help distinguish proposed locations from existing installations.

Route intent

Duct and line-set paths are useful installation-planning topics. A layout should identify where the route is proposed and which conditions remain to be checked.

Before the layout

Bring the project constraints into the drawing.

Gather equipment information, field dimensions, access constraints, and the written scope. A useful installation layout should let a reviewer understand the location being proposed without mistaking a rough assumption for a verified dimension.

Use rectangles for labeled equipment footprints, polylines for route intent, and layers to separate parts of the work. Edit architectural lengths as field information improves. Draw V1 does not include an HVAC symbol library, load calculations, duct sizing, or automatic clearance checks.
