Relden Takeoff
Every fixture type deserves its own count.
Build a lighting takeoff from reflected ceiling plans, electrical sheets, and exterior layouts. Place manual counts or review similar-symbol candidates, keeping fixture types distinct and quantities linked to the drawing.
Smart symbol matching is implemented in Relden. Public rollout has not been announced.
Start with the fixture schedule
Read the tag, then mark the fixture.
The shape of a symbol is only part of its meaning. Tags and schedule notes can distinguish mounting, emergency options, and different fixture specifications. Relden leaves that interpretation with you.

The lighting workflow
Reconcile the plan with the schedule.
Establish fixture types
Read the schedule and legend before counting. Name each row by the tag used in the documents, with location context where useful.
Mark or review candidates
Place manual points or run Find Similar from a fixture reference on the page. Review candidates room by room and accept only the correct fixture type and scope.
Measure continuous runs
Calibrate the sheet from a known distance. Trace linear lighting where length is the quantity you need to review.
Check exceptions
Open saved rows to revisit their marks. Look for alternate fixture tags, emergency variants, and the same fixture shown on another sheet.
Lookalikes are a reason to review
The same fixture outline may carry different tags or emergency options. Similarity matching does not read the fixture schedule or establish those specifications. Only accepted detections contribute to the smart count; leave uncertain candidates pending until you have checked their tags and notes.

Can I count by fixture type?
Yes. Name separate rows by fixture type. Manual counts use your saved points; smart counts use only accepted detections from their Symbol Sets. You identify the tags and decide what belongs in each row.
Does it count emergency fixtures automatically?
No. Find Similar returns visually similar candidates, not an emergency classification. Read the drawing’s emergency notation before accepting a match, and keep a distinct row where that affects scope.
Can I count fixtures and measure linear lighting in one plan?
Yes. The workspace supports manual counts, reviewed smart counts, and linear routes. Linear measurements require page calibration and are recorded in feet.
